Description

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Compliance Leads and compliance specialists supporting global payroll products.
  • Establish team priorities, operating models, development plans, and governance frameworks across multiple products and jurisdictions.
  • Execute the strategic vision for Product Strategy & Compliance across Remote's global payroll platform.
  • Translate payroll, employment, tax, and labor legislation into business requirements, product specifications, and implementation guidance.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Payroll Operations, Legal, and executive leaders to embed compliance into product architecture and automation frameworks.
  • Advocate for compliance-by-design principles that reduce manual intervention and operational risk.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and proactively manage regulatory change implementation.
  • Support country expansion initiatives by assessing product readiness and regulatory requirements for new markets.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor in roadmap planning and cross-functional decision-making forums.
  • Drive initiatives that improve compliance coverage, operational scalability, and customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of global payroll, employment, tax, and labor compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience translating complex regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities, business requirements, and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of payroll technology, product development lifecycles, and compliance-by-design principles.
  • Experience supporting global payroll products in highly regulated environments.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams within Compliance, Product Compliance, Payroll, or related functions.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with a track record of building team capability and future leaders.
  • Experience establishing strategic priorities, operating models, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to drive alignment and execution across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into clear business recommendations.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and navigating competing priorities.
  • Automation and AI capabilities are expected to be incorporated into every role at Remote.
