Description

  • Own the end-to-end definition, integration, and delivery of the spacecraft bus and its interaction with mission payloads.
  • Serve as the technical and programmatic focal point for spacecraft-level requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets.
  • Define, track, and ensure spacecraft performance budgets such as power, mass, thermal, and communications are met throughout the mission lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external spacecraft bus providers to support mission success.
  • Support spacecraft design and procurement activities from concept through execution.
  • Drive integration, test, launch, and operations activities for spacecraft missions.
  • Manage system-level coordination across multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Apply systems engineering and hands-on mission execution to resolve spacecraft program issues.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts across technical and programmatic boundaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in spacecraft or satellite systems engineering, integration, or mission design.
  • Proven ability to manage complex systems with multiple vendors and customers.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft subsystems, including power, thermal, comms, ADCS, and propulsion, and how they interact.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through integration and test, launch campaigns, or mission operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with end-to-end mission development, including payload-to-spacecraft integration, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with NASA or commercial spacecraft systems engineering processes in an applied New Space environment is a plus.
  • Experience supporting launch and early operations of spacecraft missions is preferred.
  • Prior work with deep-space or interplanetary spacecraft systems is preferred.
