Description

  • Own the architecture and production development of Reign’s AI storefront agents, beginning with the copy-site product.
  • Design agent tools, execution loops, approval workflows, evaluations, tracing, observability, and cost tracking.
  • Build MCP infrastructure and tool surfaces for modifying pages, components, styles, and data bindings.
  • Develop autonomous systems that generate, validate, deploy, measure, and optimize storefront experiences.
  • Design APIs, data models, service boundaries, and architecture across TypeScript/Node.js, React, Postgres, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Advance AI-native engineering practices through custom agents, skills, hooks, MCP servers, automated verification, and development infrastructure.
  • Build testing and quality systems, including Playwright E2E tests, golden-file tests, integration tests, visual regression, and automated quality gates.
  • Own observability, tracing, SLOs, reliability, and operational outcomes for systems delivered.
  • Author ADRs, RFCs, and technical specifications and lead design and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Lead for Storefronts and Principal Product Lead to deliver critical product capabilities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building production web platforms, with Staff-level architectural and hands-on impact across multiple technical domains.
  • Production experience building LLM and agent systems, including tool calling, schema-constrained generation, orchestration, autonomous workflows, or agentic SDKs.
  • Experience evaluating agentic systems through evals, tracing, observability, regression testing, and cost or performance measurement.
  • Regular use of coding agents and demonstrated AI-native engineering practices, including specification, parallelization, and rigorous verification.
  • Experience building custom agents, skills, hooks, MCP servers, AI code review, or similar AI-assisted engineering infrastructure.
  • Expert-level TypeScript and Node.js skills.
  • Strong full-stack fundamentals in API design, data modeling, testing, distributed systems, and production operations.
  • Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, Redis, or comparable relational, document, and caching systems.
  • Strong production reliability experience with observability, tracing, SLOs, incident response, and system ownership.
  • Strong technical writing and communication, including ADRs, RFCs, and technical specifications.
  • Experience in ecommerce, storefronts, DTC, direct response, payments, or transaction-heavy products preferred.
  • Experience with Shopify, Liquid, page builders, CMS platforms, rendering systems, MCP, Playwright, autonomous deployment, advanced caching, NestJS, or open-source AI/developer tooling preferred.
