Description

  • Lead and grow a team of data engineers and analysts through hiring, mentoring, career development, and performance management.
  • Own the long-term roadmap and prioritization for the data platform.
  • Balance infrastructure investment, new pipeline development, and analytics requests across the business.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to identify needs, scope problems, and translate requirements into technical deliverables.
  • Oversee the design and operation of data pipelines across streaming datasets, APIs, and multiple data stores.
  • Ensure data pipelines meet reliability and quality standards.
  • Operationalize the team with on-call expectations, work triage, monitoring, and incident response for production workloads.
  • Stay hands-on by reviewing code, prototyping solutions, and contributing to pipeline or infrastructure work.
  • Champion the data team’s work and foster a culture of technical excellence and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building data solutions in a modern cloud environment.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing technical teams.
  • Strong technical foundation in Python and SQL.
  • Experience operating data platforms in AWS using infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
  • CDK experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the modern data engineering stack, including relational and non-relational data stores, ELT orchestration, transformation tooling, and data observability/catalog tools.
  • Experience with containerized workloads in Kubernetes is nice to have.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage production data workloads at scale, including monitoring, issue diagnosis, and incident response.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work with business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • A passion for sustainability and making the world a better place.
