Description

  • Define and maintain the long-term technical roadmap for the Redox Engine.
  • Lead the design of critical platform components and produce architectural design documents and proof-of-concepts.
  • Write code and contribute hands-on to modernizing the platform.
  • Improve engineering velocity by simplifying platform patterns and reducing technical friction for product squads.
  • Partner with Product, Security, and Engineering leads to maintain architectural consistency across distributed teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers during discovery and refinement to define scope and constraints.
  • Work with Project Engineering Leads to develop technical plans that balance feasibility and innovation.
  • Optimize the AWS cloud-native environment for performance, cost, resilience, and scalability.
  • Mentor Senior and Staff engineers and lead architectural review forums.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage systemic technical debt and migration paths for legacy systems.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3-5 years in an Architecture or Lead/Principal role.
  • Experience building large-scale distributed systems.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, RDS, OpenSearch, and Kafka.
  • Proven experience designing and operating high-volume, low-latency real-time systems.
  • Strong understanding of concurrency, consistency models, event sourcing, and API gateway patterns.
  • Deep experience with modern backend environments, particularly Node.js/TypeScript or similar high-performance runtimes.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business impact and drive consensus across stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with AI-driven development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, and ability to guide responsible adoption.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7v2, FHIR, X12, or DICOM is preferred.
  • Significant experience with Terraform/Terragrunt or CloudFormation is preferred.
  • Experience with high-scale Postgres optimization, NoSQL strategies, or modern data lake architectures is preferred.
  • Experience architecting systems that leverage LLMs or RAG patterns for data transformation and enrichment is preferred.
  • Cloud-native experience on AWS or GCP, with AWS preferred.
  • Experience with REST API design, relational databases (Postgres), message brokers/streaming tools such as Kafka, SQS, or RabbitMQ, and Docker & Kubernetes (EKS).
  • Preferred experience with Redis, monitoring/observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes management tools, dependency management tools, and VPN setups for enterprise clients.
