Description

  • Design, develop, and integrate plugins, services, and middleware across ATAK, WinTAK, TAK Server, and MILTAK.
  • Architect CoT data schemas, translations, and event-routing pipelines between tactical devices and enterprise cloud systems.
  • Configure, scale, deploy, and maintain TAK Server across on-premises, edge, and cloud environments.
  • Build low-latency APIs and data ingestion pipelines for multi-source sensor and intelligence feeds.
  • Translate operational mission requirements into scalable technical solutions with engineering teams, product managers, and government stakeholders.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and testing frameworks for edge-deployed mission software.
  • Troubleshoot tactical network, protocol, and integration issues across heterogeneous environments.

Requirements

  • Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering and systems integration experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on TAK ecosystem experience, including CoT messaging, TAK Server management, and ATAK/WinTAK/MILTAK integration.
  • Proficiency in at least two of Java/Kotlin, C#/.NET, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with network protocols, real-time messaging systems such as WebSockets, TCP/UDP, ZeroMQ, or MQTT, and serialization formats including XML, JSON, or Protocol Buffers.
  • Experience with Git or GitLab and containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, test events, and field integration exercises.
  • Preferred: ATAK Plugin SDK development, tactical data links, defense geospatial formats, AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and DoD cybersecurity, STIG, or RMF standards.
