Description

  • Design and deliver Go software solutions that improve the availability, scalability, and latency of Reddit’s compute infrastructure.
  • Develop Kubernetes controllers and operators to automate cluster management, workload scheduling, and reconciliation of complex system states.
  • Build core tooling and SDKs for network configuration, managed services, and compute capacity tracking across a multi-region fleet.
  • Optimize intra-cluster performance by developing reactive schedulers and using node-level characteristics to inform availability.
  • Collaborate across the organization to provide technical feedback and automate critical development workflows and infrastructure operations.
  • Support operational reliability through an on-call rotation approximately one week every 8-9 weeks.
  • Handle software development, system design, and operational support as a generalist on the team.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience developing internet-scale software with a strong focus on infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Go and a proven track record of building and managing Kubernetes services at scale.
  • Strong expertise in Linux internals, including multi-tenancy primitives such as cgroups and namespaces.
  • Experience contributing to the open-source community, ideally in infrastructure or CNCF-related projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex cross-system issues and manage large projects independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, service-oriented environment.
  • Experience working in multi-cloud or large-scale fleet environments (implied by the role context).
