Description

  • Own the health, uptime, and overall success of deployed imaging systems.
  • Triage, diagnose, and drive resolution of issues across code, firmware, networking, and hardware.
  • Build, extend, and maintain production software services for edge-compute devices in austere environments.
  • Support field operators and non-technical users in diagnosing and resolving issues on deployed hardware.
  • Serve as a technical representative for product integrations with external teams and customers.
  • Maintain end-to-end understanding of systems spanning hardware, firmware, networking, and software.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and platform engineers to plan, build, and test complex functionality.
  • Optimize how services interact and degrade gracefully when components fail.
  • Travel for field testing and customer integrations, approximately 15% of the time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software development experience with meaningful production ownership.
  • Strong Python and C++ skills, with the ability to work effectively in either language.
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux-based environments, including bare-metal hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve issues across system boundaries such as networking, services, and hardware interaction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time for field testing and customer integrations.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.
  • Experience with gRPC or similar RPC frameworks preferred.
  • Familiarity with Linux service management and observability practices preferred.
  • React/JSX experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Nix or NixOS preferred.
  • Experience supporting fielded or deployed systems preferred.
