Description

  • Evolve Reddit’s cross-platform design system by expanding its capabilities and creating higher-level reusable components.
  • Collaborate with product teams, designers, and engineers to align the design system and UI infrastructure with real product needs.
  • Improve Android performance at scale through architecture, rendering patterns, and performance-focused development practices.
  • Build accessible components, patterns, tooling, and documentation that support default accessibility across the platform.
  • Strengthen developer experience through shared tooling, documentation, and platform improvements for consistent UI development.
  • Contribute to UI architecture that powers experiences across Reddit’s products.
  • Help establish frontend patterns that enable product teams to ship high-quality experiences efficiently.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects with broad product impact.
  • Experience building and maintaining shared UI infrastructure such as design systems, component libraries, or frontend infrastructure used across multiple teams.
  • Strong experience with modern Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience with UI architecture, scalable component design, and performance optimization using tools such as Instruments.
  • Familiarity with accessibility best practices.
  • Interest in building components, tooling, or documentation that help teams ship accessible experiences by default.
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity, seek feedback, and continuously improve craft and platform contributions.
  • Experience across multiple teams or platform-level product support is preferred.

  • Base salary range of $190,800 to $267,100 USD.
  • Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units, and may also be eligible for commission depending on the position offered.
