Description

  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver products and features aligned with business strategy.
  • Contribute to the full development lifecycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
  • Design and implement end-to-end full-stack solutions for Reddit’s media player and supporting APIs.
  • Optimize React and TypeScript web UI components and Go and Python backend services for media delivery.
  • Collaborate with client and platform engineers to improve media performance globally.
  • Review code, design documents, product specifications, and user experience mocks.
  • Develop engineering standards and best practices, improve developer workflows, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Balance rapid delivery with software quality and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience with one or more general-purpose languages, such as Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Experience translating complex UI/UX designs into scalable web applications.
  • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, and basic Thrift.
  • Ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and deliver projects on schedule.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a fully remote environment.
  • Ability to explain complex topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
