Description

  • Sustain and enhance the JPSS Common Ground System for the LEO Ground Sustainment Services program.
  • Work on command, control, communications, and data processing requirements for JPSS-serviced missions.
  • Lead or support software teams developing enterprise systems in Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and NoSQL.
  • Build microservices and web services using SOA, SOAP, REST, and XML, or support testing of those systems.
  • Use Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes-based environments to build and deploy solutions efficiently.
  • Lead verification testing of deployed and integrated software/hardware systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to define MVP requirements and convert them into well-scoped user stories.
  • Plan and execute large-scale test events using traditional integration and test methods, including RVTM, test metrics, and test reporting.
  • Work across cross-functional engineering disciplines such as systems security, metrics, trade analysis, and mission systems.
  • Develop engineering documentation such as SEMP, test plans, test procedures, SSPs, and milestone event plans.

Requirements

  • 8-15+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise information systems.
  • 8-15+ years of experience performing test verification and validation on delivered systems.
  • Engineering experience with large, complex systems, including redundancy, scalability, portability, and Agile environments.
  • Hands-on experience or direct team leadership for software teams working in Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and NoSQL.
  • Experience building or testing microservices and web services, including SOA, SOAP, REST, and XML.
  • Experience using Cloud Foundry on top of Kubernetes.
  • Experience leading verification testing of integrated software/hardware systems.
  • Experience gathering requirements and defining feature sets with stakeholders and product managers.
  • Experience with large-scale test execution and traditional I&T test approaches such as RVTM, meaningful test metrics, and test reporting.
  • Familiarity with NASA/NOAA systems engineering processes is ideal but not required.
  • Experience in cross-functional disciplines such as RMA, SMA, systems security, metrics, trade analysis, mission systems, and integrated logistics.
  • Experience developing NOAA/NASA systems engineering documentation such as SEMP, test plans, test procedures, SSPs, and milestone event planning.
  • Cloud SME background and cloud-based solution experience are beneficial for the role.
  • Ability to provide roadmaps, best-practice recommendations, and portal governance guidance for cloud solutions is preferred.
  • Experience customizing algorithm-driven process automation is recommended.
  • Experience designing cloud infrastructure solutions to meet compliance and high-availability requirements is recommended.
  • Experience providing training to users and super users on cloud-based solutions is recommended.
  • Experience performing high-level requirements gathering and solution design for cloud-based solutions is recommended.
