Description

  • Contribute to xet-core, the open-source Rust project powering hf-xet and Hugging Face Hub clients.
  • Design, build, and operate scalable features for the Xet Storage backend.
  • Develop low-level, high-performance systems software for large-scale AI asset storage and retrieval.
  • Operate production infrastructure through monitoring, alerting, distributed debugging, and recovery.
  • Collaborate across the Xet Storage and broader Infrastructure organizations in an async, remote environment.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of evolving technical challenges and deliver robust services with minimal process.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building and scaling distributed systems, storage, or networking infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in a low-level systems language; Rust is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building and operating production systems software.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and take ownership in a high-trust, low-process environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, asynchronous, fully remote organization.
  • Passion for building simple, robust, and scalable systems.
  • Experience designing efficient, high-performance, fault-tolerant storage and retrieval systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with git internals, AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, relational or non-relational databases, or networking preferred.
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, Go, or C++ is beneficial.
