Description

  • Capture, derive, manage, and trace surveillance system and subsystem requirements from operational needs, customer inputs, regulations, and airspace constraints.
  • Develop and maintain SysML models using MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo.
  • Define system architectures and integrate surveillance technologies including ADS-B, radar, DAA/ACAS, and transponders.
  • Support system development from design and implementation through integration, verification, validation, and certification.
  • Support compliance with ARP4754B and system safety assessments under ARP4761A, including FHA, PASA, and SSA activities.
  • Prepare lifecycle artifacts and System/Subsystem Design Description documents for SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and qualification reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate surveillance-related technical and performance risks.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities and review or supervise the technical work of junior and mid-level systems engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • 7+ years of experience in a highly technical aerospace-related industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role.
  • Hands-on experience with surveillance avionics, collision avoidance, or sensor fusion technologies such as ADS-B, radar, TCAS/ACAS X, DAA, or Mode S transponders.
  • Familiarity with the full systems engineering lifecycle, including ConOps, requirements, architecture, integration and testing, and V&V.
  • Experience with ARP4754B and system safety reviews under ARP4761/ARP4761A.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with aircraft systems, UTM, or AAM platforms preferred.
  • Exposure to surveillance standards such as DO-365, DO-260, DO-185, and DO-386 preferred.
  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, Polarion, DOORS, SysML, Cameo Systems Modeler, or MagicDraw preferred.
