Description

  • Administer, deploy, maintain, and optimize AWS environments, Linux and Windows servers, and cloud services.
  • Manage Puppet-controlled infrastructure and develop infrastructure automation initiatives.
  • Design, build, and maintain new cloud-based systems with a focus on reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Support production systems and, at senior level, act as an escalation point for complex incidents and lead root-cause analysis.
  • Investigate new cloud technologies and recommend platform improvements.
  • Propose automation and process improvements while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation for cloud systems and supporting processes.
  • Drive cloud security best practices and cost optimization.
  • Improve the capability and efficiency of the Cloud Engineering and wider IT teams.
  • Mentor and coach mid-level engineers and contribute to risk, compliance, and responsible customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience for Mid-level or 5 years for Senior-level cloud engineering roles.
  • Experience developing and administering AWS environments, including Linux server administration.
  • Experience with Puppet or other configuration management tools.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, including CloudFormation, Terraform, or Serverless.
  • Scripting experience with Bash or Linux shell scripts and automation tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with AWS RDS or similar AWS database services and web servers such as Nginx or Apache.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and with continuous integration pipelines such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, prioritization, stakeholder collaboration, and independent-working skills.
  • Preferred experience with Jira, AWS APIs, Node.js, JavaScript, REST/JSON web services, and API testing tools such as Postman.
