Description

  • Evaluate and refine Microsoft Fabric architecture, metadata structures, event triggers, and ingestion patterns.
  • Design and implement metadata-driven ingestion frameworks for configuration-based onboarding.
  • Migrate prioritized data sources and workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop and orchestrate Fabric pipelines and Spark notebooks using PySpark and Spark SQL.
  • Analyze Synapse pipelines and dependencies and translate processing logic into Fabric solutions.
  • Build data validation and reconciliation processes for migration accuracy.
  • Determine appropriate full-load, incremental, and CDC loading strategies.
  • Implement Git-based CI/CD and automated environment promotion for Fabric artifacts.
  • Use Claude Code for implementation specifications, development acceleration, and code review.
  • Collaborate with client engineers through paired development, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply best practices for performance, testing, monitoring, documentation, security, and operational support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure Data Services, including Fabric, Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse.
  • Production experience with Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses, pipelines, notebooks, medallion architecture, workspaces, and capacity management.
  • Experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines and reusable, metadata-driven ingestion frameworks.
  • Experience with PySpark, Spark SQL, strong SQL, T-SQL, and data transformation or performance tuning.
  • Experience analyzing Azure Synapse pipelines and complex processing dependencies.
  • Experience implementing Git-based CI/CD using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience using Claude Code for AI-assisted development and reviewing generated code.
  • Experience validating migrations and ensuring data quality across source and target systems.
  • Experience integrating REST APIs, relational databases, and structured or semi-structured data.
  • Familiarity with governance, lineage, metadata management, and catalog tools such as Microsoft Purview.
  • Preferred experience migrating Synapse workloads to Fabric, working with Oracle or DB2, implementing CDC, and developing reconciliation frameworks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including client-facing technical discussions.
  • Must reside in the United States, be authorized to work without sponsorship, and pass a background check.
