Description

  • Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed team of vulnerability researchers, scan operations engineers, and software engineers.
  • Provide technical leadership by guiding development efforts, setting direction, and coaching engineers to grow their careers.
  • Partner with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to align on scope, timelines, and solution design.
  • Communicate and advocate technical solutions to product, engineering, and business audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and tools to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure teams design, develop, and deploy features with high availability, quality, low latency, and scalability.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of product features and updates.
  • Implement and maintain agile methodologies for project tracking and documentation.
  • Champion an AI-first engineering culture and encourage adoption of AI tools, workflows, and practices.
  • Support the operational health, scale, and reliability of the scanning platform.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in an Enterprise SaaS product.
  • 4+ years in a management or leadership role, ideally overseeing multiple functions with remote teams across different time zones.
  • Meaningful hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with Python, Go, or C.
  • Experience leading project teams' development efforts and setting technical direction.
  • Strong familiarity with low-level, network-heavy applications focused on high-volume traffic, availability, and global scale is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with message buses/queues such as Kafka or Rabbit.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Extensive familiarity with the TCP/IP protocol stack, including DNS, WHOIS, and other reconnaissance/discovery artifacts.
  • Comfort with AI development concepts and enthusiasm for incorporating AI into engineering workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent education/work experience.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and the unique challenges of developing cybersecurity products (preferred).
  • Familiarity with port scanning, vulnerability scanning, or signature development (preferred).
  • Familiarity with enterprise security products related to Recorded Future’s offerings (preferred).

  • Base salary range of $199,000-$278,000.
