Description

  • Drive strategic medical thinking within the creative advertising team.
  • Oversee UK-based global medical copywriters and provide mentorship and guidance on content development.
  • Shape project direction based on client interests and desired outcomes, ensuring scientific elevation and tailored messaging.
  • Conduct research on medicines, therapeutic landscapes, and competitors to inform brand communication and strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Strategy team and senior account teams to align direction with client strategy and insights.
  • Work with creatives to ensure scientific and medical accuracy in briefs and the resonance of outputs.
  • Provide scientific guidance to teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Foster strong client relationships and identify growth opportunities.
  • Support new business initiatives through research and pitch narrative development.

Requirements

  • Experience in strategic projects with global clients, preferably in an advertising or agency environment.
  • Experience in roles such as Medical Strategist, Scientific Strategist, Senior Medical Writer, or Copywriter.
  • An advanced degree in a scientific or medical discipline is preferred, such as PharmD, PhD, MSc, RN, or MD.
  • Ability to identify underlying challenges by actively listening and understanding spoken and unspoken cues.
  • High client EQ and the ability to adapt approaches to match client styles and interests.
  • Strong storytelling, presentation, and simplification skills for complex concepts.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and ability to deliver independently with minimal guidance.
  • Proficiency with scientific research tools such as PubMed and software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare ecosystem.
  • 4+ years of experience launching biopharmaceutical brands.
