Description

  • Evaluate pilot competency in aircraft operations, risk management, and positional skills according to CBP/AMO policies.
  • Maintain proficiency and demonstrate normal and emergency maneuvers in the P-3 Operational Flight Simulator.
  • Create realistic simulator scenarios and training events for flight crews at different experience levels.
  • Develop and update lesson plans, training materials, systems quizzes, and examinations.
  • Upload completed training materials and documentation to OpSTAR.
  • Serve as a subject-matter advisor on P-3 training materials, grade sheets, and related documentation.
  • Manage training calendars to ensure all PIC/SIC events are completed within each course cycle.
  • Provide simulator training and proficiency certification for new P-3 simulator users, including AMO personnel and external partners.
  • Instruct and evaluate pilots on P-3 Orion aircraft systems, normal procedures, and emergency procedures in classroom and simulator environments.
  • Lead classroom and flight instruction blocks covering aircraft systems, procedures, and emergency scenarios.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of recent P-3 Instructor Pilot experience within the last 2 years.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety protocols, and operational risk management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of P-3 avionics, navigation systems, engines, and mission equipment.
  • Experience instructing in a flight simulator environment (preferred).
  • Ability to undergo pre-employment screening.
  • Willingness to work in a mission-critical U.S. government aviation training environment.
  • Experience supporting CBP/AMO policies and training standards (preferred).
