Description

  • Implement AWS cloud standards for infrastructure, networking, and software components with an emphasis on security, speed, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are optimized for Infrastructure as Code environments and meet security and compliance requirements.
  • Support and maintain automation and deployment processes to improve developer experience and engineering efficiency.
  • Maintain pattern libraries for Infrastructure as Code so developers can provision environments in a self-service model.
  • Support monitoring and logging solutions that help teams assess platform performance.
  • Create developer training and documentation for platform products to encourage autonomy and self-service.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AWS issues related to security, performance, and scalability.
  • Support security and compliance measures to ensure AWS services meet regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation to support internal developer services.
  • Evaluate and support new technologies to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Services or developer experience tooling.
  • 3+ years of experience with specific AWS technologies, including PaaS offerings.
  • 2+ years of experience working with distributed systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and commercial tooling such as GitLab and GitHub.
  • Experience with Go, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Experience enabling and troubleshooting containerized workloads in ECS, Docker Swarm, or Kubernetes.
  • Experience engaging with users of developer platforms to identify needs and opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including contributing to code reviews and capturing tasks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.
  • At least one associate-level AWS certification, or willingness to provide proof of certification within 6 months of employment.
  • Preferred experience with serverless technologies in AWS or GCP.
  • Preferred experience with multi-region deployments in AWS or GCP.
  • Preferred experience running developer surveys or gathering feedback to guide developer experience improvements.
