Description

  • Design, implement, and maintain software for a real-time, highly concurrent distributed system.
  • Architect and build a high-performance, stable, scalable, extensible, and comprehensible back-end system.
  • Work with the development team to support the broader Pulse Labs organization through core platform development.
  • Shape the firm’s strategic direction through ownership of the main software backbone.
  • Build solutions with an iterative, user-focused approach and select the most appropriate technologies for each task.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience preferred.
  • Strong experience with Java and Node.js.
  • Experience implementing and operating mission-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in Linux, high-performance computing, and networking.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems engineering, RESTful APIs, and WebSockets.
  • Ability to write clean, modular, and well-documented code.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Self-driven and organized working style.
  • MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field preferred.
  • Previous experience building testing or analytics tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of real-time audio and video streaming preferred.
  • Experience developing on a major analytics platform preferred.
