Description

  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain the engineering team responsible for the full Privacy.com product scope.
  • Spend roughly one-third of time coding, reviewing designs, and unblocking engineers in a player-coach capacity.
  • Ensure the reliability and correctness of product systems, including card processing.
  • Own multi-month initiatives from planning through launch, guiding architectural decisions and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and prioritize high-impact work.
  • Balance long-term platform investments with immediate product delivery needs.
  • Improve observability, incident response, reliability practices, processes, and documentation.
  • Recruit and hire engineering talent.
  • Participate in and evolve the team’s on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Experience managing and growing engineers through coaching, feedback, and hiring.
  • Strong technical judgment and system-design expertise, particularly for distributed systems and highly reliable production services.
  • Ability to remain hands-on through coding, design reviews, and removing team blockers.
  • Experience shipping and operating production services with a focus on measurable reliability and pragmatic iteration.
  • Experience leading teams through large, multi-month projects while balancing long-term investments and near-term delivery.
  • Experience with NodeJS and AWS or closely related technology stacks; ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and ability to maintain alignment under time pressure.
  • Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Interest in fintech and payments (preferred).
  • Must be located in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Benefits

  • Annual US salary range of $169,000–$265,000 plus equity.
  • Remote role, with the ability to work from anywhere in the world for four weeks per year.
