Description

  • Lead, coach, hire, and develop a high-performing team of fullstack engineers.
  • Own technical execution across borrower-facing user interfaces, backend services, APIs, and servicing-system integrations.
  • Partner with Product and Design to improve the Funded Borrower Dashboard, payment journeys, and AI-powered support experiences.
  • Define and deliver a multi-quarter technical strategy aligned with Borrower Experience and Servicing priorities.
  • Guide architecture and modernization efforts to improve reliability, observability, maintainability, and development speed.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Analytics, Compliance, and other partners to translate borrower and regulatory needs into accessible product experiences.
  • Balance product delivery with architectural investments, while communicating priorities, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, experimentation, product quality, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 10–15 years of software engineering experience, including 4–7 years in engineering management.
  • Experience leading fullstack engineering teams that build and operate customer-facing products.
  • Technical depth in frontend architecture, backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and system design.
  • Experience partnering with Product and Design to deliver intuitive user experiences and measurable business outcomes.
  • Experience leading teams in regulated industries such as fintech, payments, or lending.
  • Experience defining and delivering complex technical strategies while balancing product delivery and architectural improvement.
  • Demonstrated success hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing engineers.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, including explaining technical decisions and trade-offs to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work remotely within East or West Coast time zones.
  • Ability to attend in-person team onsites, typically once or twice per quarter for 2–4 consecutive days.
  • For Canada-based hires, eligibility to work outside Quebec.

  • Base salary of $195,300–$270,400 USD for U.S. remote employees or $182,800–$230,000 CAD for Canada remote employees, based on location and qualifications.
