Description

  • Design, build and operate reliable, scalable production systems.
  • Define, monitor and improve service-level objectives and indicators (SLOs/SLIs).
  • Collaborate with software engineers on system design and reliability improvements.
  • Automate infrastructure and operational workflows to reduce manual toil and MTTR.
  • Participate in and lead incident response, including blameless post-incident reviews and implementation of follow-up actions.
  • Analyze and optimize system performance and cost, and provide recommendations for capacity planning.
  • Support security best practices through vulnerability remediation and threat mitigation.
  • Engage stakeholders, share operational learnings and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

  • Hands-on production experience with site reliability engineering practices.
  • Strong AWS, Kubernetes, networking and DNS expertise.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code; Pulumi is preferred and Terraform is a plus.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, with emphasis on code quality and maintainability.
  • Solid Python proficiency, including testing, debugging and packaging within the Python ecosystem.
  • Experience leading incident response and root-cause analyses to improve system reliability.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders, propose solutions and mentor others.
  • Experience in regulated industries or managing sensitive data and secure networking, including Cloudflare exposure (preferred).
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed systems, including RabbitMQ, Kafka, PostgreSQL and Redis (preferred).
  • Experience with Datadog, PySpark, database troubleshooting and MLOps practices such as model versioning, retraining and deployment lifecycles (preferred).
