Description

Lead editorial work for assigned accounts, including medical editing, fact checking, and submission preparation.
Copy edit projects for spelling, grammar, consistency, balance, tone, and adherence to creative brief, client style, and AMA style.
Perform fact checking and clean reads for unbranded claims, core promotional materials, and data-related claims.
Review client and medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) changes in context and edit accordingly.
Prepare MLR submissions by tagging and linking materials in the client’s submission system when needed.
Assume lead editing responsibilities across one or more accounts.
Represent the editorial department in internal kickoff and status meetings.
Ensure pieces comply with each client’s MLR submission process and best practices.
Collaborate with account teams to identify and suggest efficiencies in the internal routing process.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Communications, English, Life Science, or Regulatory.
Minimum of 3 years of editing experience in the medical communication, pharmaceutical, and/or healthcare industry.
At least 1 year of experience in the advertising and/or pharmaceutical marketing industry preferred.
At least 1 year of experience editing publications such as manuscripts or posters preferred.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Familiarity with scientific search engines including PubMed and Google Scholar.
Strong proficiency in American Medical Association (AMA) Style, 11th edition.
Familiarity with medical legal regulatory (MLR) requirements and client submission platforms such as Veeva.
High degree of autonomy, with a team-oriented and detail-oriented approach.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with mastery of English grammar.
Ability to prioritize deadline-sensitive projects and manage competing priorities.
Experience with MLR reviews preferred.
Knowledge of FDA requirements related to pharmaceutical advertising preferred.
Familiarity with editing long-form writing such as publications and dossiers preferred.
