Description

  • Work with Trial Operations, Project Finance, and Project Managers to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on metric definitions, business rules, and reporting logic.
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI semantic models, including DAX measures, KPIs, hierarchies, and table relationships.
  • Create reusable, governed DAX measures aligned to approved KPI definitions.
  • Implement calculation groups, time intelligence, and standardized metric logic.
  • Optimize data models for performance, scalability, and refresh efficiency.
  • Translate business-defined KPIs into scalable analytical logic for trial, portfolio, and financial reporting.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Corporate IT to validate dataset readiness, align data contracts, and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Document datasets, measures, and assumptions for transparency and reuse.
  • Implement and maintain row-level security, workspace permissions, and dataset access controls.
  • Manage versioning, QA testing, and deployment of dashboards across environments.
  • Develop certified datasets and support self-service analytics across the organization.
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to teams using Power BI dashboards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions.
  • Strong expertise in DAX, including complex measures and time intelligence.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI semantic modeling.
  • Strong expertise in Power Query (M) for light transformations.
  • Strong expertise in SQL for validation and analysis.
  • Strong experience with data modeling, including star schema and grain management.
  • Experience building analytics for executive and operational audiences.
  • Experience working with operational or financial datasets.
  • Ability to translate business logic into clear analytical models.
  • Knowledge of data visualization best practices and optimization techniques.
  • Experience in clinical trials, CROs, or life sciences, including clinical trial operations datasets such as CTMS, enrollment tracking, and subject visit structures (preferred).
  • Exposure to financial or operational analytics, including ERP financial datasets such as actuals, budgets, revenue recognition, WIP, and invoicing (preferred).
  • Experience working with centralized data warehouse teams (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Power BI performance tuning and capacity considerations (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Azure data tools and the Power BI Service, including workspaces, gateways, and datasets (preferred).
  • Experience working within professional services, life sciences, or project-based environments (preferred).
  • Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple dashboards and competing deadlines.
  • Comfort working cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Finance, and Trial Operations.
