Description

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential policymaker partners at the state and/or federal levels.
  • Conduct research and analysis on potential partners, policy issues, and policy opportunities.
  • Advise PowerLines on partnership strategy and policymaker engagement strategy.
  • Help develop and execute bipartisan coalitions and engagement efforts.
  • Engage with NGOs, advocacy groups, think tanks, industry, and other partners as needed.
  • Represent PowerLines at convenings, events, conferences, and other engagement opportunities.
  • Provide additional support for partnership and policymaker engagement efforts as needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in state and/or federal policy, politics, government affairs, government relations, or a related field.
  • Strong existing relationships with state and/or federal policymakers.
  • Track record of engaging on state and/or federal policy issues, particularly those relevant to utility regulation.
  • Experience building coalitions and engaging with politically diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to build bipartisan relationships is preferred.
  • Experience in NGO, advocacy, government, or startup settings is preferred.
  • Energy policy and utility issue experience is valued but not required.
  • Ability to thrive in an early-stage, fast-paced, dynamic, and uncertain startup environment.
  • Ability to work independently, identify priorities, and operate under tight timelines.
  • Interest in advancing PowerLines’ mission through a consumer-centered lens.
