Description

  • Define ambiguous evaluation questions, assumptions, methodologies, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Design and execute scalable, repeatable analyses of Pomelo Care program outcomes.
  • Extend existing evaluation methods or develop new approaches for novel research questions.
  • Lead technical engagement with external partners, including methodology discussions and presentations.
  • Drive evidence strategy across payer reporting, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Build data tables, pipelines, and dashboards using diverse healthcare data sources.
  • Partner with data and analytics engineering teams to scale and automate insights.
  • Serve as the internal statistics and health economics expert, mentoring data scientists and guiding technical investment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience developing statistical models for complex healthcare problems.
  • Experience with techniques such as propensity score matching, regression, clustering, difference-in-differences, and decision trees.
  • Experience with cost-of-care or clinical-outcomes target setting at a payer, managed care organization, integrated delivery network, value-based care provider, or healthcare consulting firm.
  • Experience presenting statistical analyses to external stakeholders with varied technical expertise.
  • Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to independently define recommendations and work effectively with ambiguous goals.
  • Formal training in statistics, econometrics, or actuarial science preferred.
  • Experience with risk-based or value-based contracting, medical claims data, peer-reviewed health outcomes research, dashboarding tools, or dbt preferred.
