Description

  • Design and evolve the AI Platform architecture, including the agentic runtime, MCP integration layer, model gateway, and evaluation and observability services.
  • Ensure the platform scales across the product portfolio as adoption grows.
  • Guide the AI Engineering team through architectural decisions, design reviews, and technical mentorship.
  • Partner with product teams to translate AI roadmaps into architectural requirements, decision records, and delivery plans.
  • Create reference architectures, reusable patterns, and paved-road templates for teams building AI agents, MCP servers, and AI solutions.
  • Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams using the platform.
  • Establish standards for security, responsible AI, evaluation, and observability.
  • Lead architectural review processes to ensure platform-based solutions are consistent, compliant, and production-ready.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering and platform architecture experience, including deep cloud expertise; Azure experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience building AI/ML infrastructure and generative AI solutions at scale.
  • Hands-on expertise with agentic systems, including agent frameworks, multi-agent orchestration, MCP, tool use, RAG, vector databases, and production LLMOps.
  • Experience designing internal platforms, developer experiences, APIs, SDKs, and self-service engineering patterns.
  • Broad architecture knowledge across cloud-native, distributed, data, and security systems.
  • Ability to produce high-quality architecture documents and decision records and communicate design trade-offs to engineering and product audiences.
  • Experience with Azure AI services such as Azure OpenAI, AKS, and APIM, and Databricks lakehouse capabilities such as Unity Catalog and model serving (preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare technology, clinical workflows, or regulated environments (preferred).
  • Experience leading engineering teams as a senior architect or technical lead in a platform organization (preferred).
  • Knowledge of advanced agentic patterns, AI governance, responsible AI, model risk management, and model fine-tuning pipelines (preferred).
