Description

  • Apply NLP, GenAI, and other AI/ML techniques to develop model systems and end-user solutions for healthcare workflows.
  • Collaborate with product leaders, clinical informaticists, data scientists, designers, engineers, and other domain experts to scale and integrate advanced solutions.
  • Design, build, and evaluate solutions using structured and unstructured data, including speech and natural language.
  • Conduct research and experimentation to choose appropriate approaches, algorithms, evaluation methods, and frameworks.
  • Perform and oversee data collection, data cleaning, data analysis, algorithm selection, prompt tuning, parameter fine-tuning, training, and evaluation.
  • Develop responsible AI solutions at scale using existing tools or new tools and workflows as needed.
  • Provide technical mentorship in advanced AI, NLP, data science, statistical methods, and machine learning.
  • Work independently with substantial ownership from day one.
  • Work with customers and healthcare professionals to understand problems and validate solutions.

Requirements

  • PhD or comparable experience in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-10+ years of industry experience building solutions in commercial SaaS.
  • At least 4 years of experience applying NLP, Search, or AI/ML technologies in healthcare.
  • Expert-level hands-on experience with NLP techniques, including fine-tuning LLMs and Transformer models.
  • Experience leading research and experimentation, including feature selection, language modeling, evaluation, and model training/fine-tuning.
  • Experience building and deploying AI/ML and NLP models for large-scale SaaS products.
  • Familiarity with scaling issues, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and security.
  • Strong understanding of transformer models and multiple ML approaches, including logistic regression, random forest, ensemble methods, SVM, KNN, and reinforcement learning.
  • Proficiency in Python and Java is required; JavaScript or TypeScript and modern UI frameworks are desired.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data engineering for ML/NLP applications, with exposure to database systems.
  • Experience with data science and ML libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Keras, LightGBM, fastText, NLTK, and spaCy.
  • Proficiency fine-tuning Hugging Face Transformers is required.
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data frameworks such as Azure Data Lake, Apache Spark, or MapReduce.
  • Extensive experience using public cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across functions and organizational levels.
  • Strong interest in applying AI/ML/NLP to healthcare-related problems and data.
