Description

  • Define Point’s AI technical strategy for customer experience, including frameworks, platforms, and vendors.
  • Own the roadmap for AI-powered voice, email, chat, and SMS agents.
  • Write code, review pull requests, prototype capabilities, and debug production issues.
  • Partner with Product, CX, and Operations to identify and deploy AI-assisted workflows.
  • Establish agent performance metrics and use data to prioritize improvements.
  • Design reliable agent architectures covering orchestration, tools, guardrails, and fallbacks.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small senior engineering team while removing blockers.
  • Drive observability and reliability across the AI agent stack using tools such as Langfuse.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems, including 2+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
  • Experience developing and shipping LLM-powered, conversational AI, or agentic systems in production.
  • Track record of delivering customer-facing products from design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, Operations, and CX teams.
  • Deep systems design expertise focused on reliable, observable, real-time services.
  • Experience defining technical strategy and roadmaps for AI-driven customer experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, RAG, tool usage, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Experience evaluating build-versus-buy options and third-party vendors or platforms.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; conversational AI infrastructure and AI evaluation/observability experience preferred.
