Description

  • Define and evolve the frontend architecture for growth surfaces including landing pages, onboarding flows, conversion funnels, and personalization layers.
  • Lead 3–6 engineers through multi-month projects while balancing hands-on development with architectural leadership.
  • Champion a component-driven design system with modular, testable patterns that support A/B testing, feature flagging, and rapid experimentation.
  • Drive frontend performance improvements such as Core Web Vitals, bundle size, and rendering efficiency to improve conversion and engagement.
  • Partner with Design, Product, and Marketing to scope experiments, translate mockups into accessible implementations, and prioritize conversion improvements.
  • Write and review frontend code daily in TypeScript and React, with supporting work in Python or Ruby for API integration.
  • Own the experimentation pipeline by building and instrumenting A/B tests, analyzing results, and iterating on winning variants.
  • Provide milestone estimates, monitor progress against schedules, and proactively communicate delivery risks to stakeholders.
  • Mentor engineers on frontend best practices, component design, accessibility, and the business context of their work.
  • Lead frontend design reviews and establish standards for code quality, performance budgets, and testing coverage.

Requirements

  • Must be currently based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years focused on frontend development.
  • Deep proficiency in TypeScript, React, or an equivalent modern frontend framework.
  • Strong experience with modern CSS and styling approaches.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, web accessibility (WCAG), and frontend performance optimization.
  • Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.
  • Proficiency with at least one public cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployments.
  • Proven track record of leading small-to-medium teams to deliver high-quality, customer-facing web applications.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort presenting to both technical and business audiences.
