Description

  • Represent Plus Power’s Real Estate Team on evolving real estate priorities across the project portfolio.
  • Draft and negotiate option to purchase agreements, option to lease agreements, purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, crossing consents, amendments, and other real property agreements.
  • Support the Real Estate Team in resolving complex title and survey issues.
  • Support site acquisition closings for real estate transactions.
  • Provide legal representation for real estate matters in project financings and tax equity investments.
  • Lead and mentor the Counsel, Real Estate.
  • Select, engage, and oversee local counsel and other external counsel.
  • Collaborate with Development, Permitting, Interconnection, EPC, Finance, and O&M teams on cross-functional matters.

Requirements

  • J.D. required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience at a top-tier law firm in a commercial real estate practice group.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience supporting real estate efforts for utility-scale renewable energy development.
  • Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on purchase and sale agreements, option agreements, ground lease agreements, easements, amendments, and other real property agreements.
  • Strong experience in title and survey review, risk identification, and risk resolution.
  • Extensive experience negotiating title insurance policies, particularly energy title policies for renewable energy and/or energy storage projects.
  • Strong track record supporting real estate matters in complex project financings.
  • Deep experience advising on real estate aspects of complex M&A transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with geographically dispersed technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong presentation and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
