Description

  • Manage on-ground operations and maintenance activities for one to three sites under the Director of Field Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and electrical policies to protect staff and visitors.
  • Perform quality and safety inspections and audits of field technicians’ maintenance work.
  • Provide updates on planned and unplanned site maintenance activities.
  • Identify, report, and escalate critical issues to maximize uptime and support market operations and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance, repair, outage, and preventive maintenance activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support field O&M providers, onsite technicians, vendors, and the trading, remote operations, EMS supplier, and asset management teams.
  • Create and track service work orders and warranty claims through completion.
  • Maintain daily records for regulatory compliance and coordinate site safety documentation such as JHAs.
  • Manage overtime, site budgets, and contractor commitments while ensuring work stays within approved scope.
  • Determine root causes of underperforming systems with support from performance engineering and the O&M team.
  • Travel as needed for onsite supervision, field work, and outage support, up to 60%.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of two years of direct experience in BESS and/or solar site operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe industrial work practices and a commitment to site safety.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with management, contractors, landowners, and others.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Electrical, inverter, and BESS certifications or licenses preferred.
  • HV electrical certification or experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
  • Experience with electrical isolation (LOTO) procedures for low- and high-voltage equipment.
  • Experience leading teams both locally and remotely.
  • Flexible work hours and travel to remote areas required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs, work from a ladder, walk long distances, use forklifts or small motorized equipment, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond in person to the site within a reasonable period of time.
  • Preferred location between Austin and San Antonio or near Midland, Texas.
