Description

  • Own the end-to-end payments delivery roadmap across financial reporting, payout operations, refunds and disputes, tax, and Stripe Connect execution.
  • Translate payments strategy into sequenced, shippable delivery plans with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Engineering on technical scoping, sequencing, and integrations with banking partners and payment processors.
  • Work directly with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate operational needs into product requirements.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate spec writing, data analysis, prototyping, and customer feedback synthesis.
  • Validate product decisions with bookkeeper interviews, support ticket analysis, and behavioral analytics.
  • Manage a large, complex backlog across multiple workstreams with competing priorities, compliance constraints, and executive scrutiny.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Support, and school-facing teams to ensure the product matches real-world workflows.
  • Improve financial reporting outputs such as settlement statements, event-level reporting, and financial performance dashboards.
  • Drive improvements to refund and dispute tooling, payout accuracy, reconciliation, and revenue share automation.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of product management or related experience in accounting, compliance, or finance operations.
  • Working knowledge of software product development.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, financial services, or a similarly complex domain involving settlements, payouts, reconciliation, or compliance.
  • Comfort working with Finance and Accounting stakeholders, including reading a GL and focusing on accuracy and auditability.
  • Proven ability to manage a large, complex backlog across multiple workstreams with competing priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make judgment calls beyond straightforward execution.
  • A demonstrated AI-forward approach using tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar.
  • Strong communication skills for working with engineers, finance leaders, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strongly preferred: experience with payout or settlement products and payment processor ecosystems.
  • Strongly preferred: experience supporting internal tool users such as Finance, Ops, or Accounting alongside external customers.
  • Strongly preferred: SQL familiarity or comfort working with data teams to answer analytical questions.
