Description

  • Lead and coordinate the development of backend solutions for the MediaStore SaaS platform.
  • Establish and help shape a new development hub in Colombia.
  • Design, prototype, and optimize backend services for web and mobile applications.
  • Oversee development across a mature, multi-service codebase with multiple REST APIs.
  • Review teammates’ code to support quality, learning, and consistency.
  • Mentor team members on coding standards, tooling, and best practices.
  • Introduce new technologies and methodologies to improve the development process.
  • Collaborate with international teams in product, project management, support, development, QA, and design.
  • Use AI tools to improve development efficiency while maintaining code quality.
  • Ensure solutions remain maintainable, secure, performant, and easy to use.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in web application development.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with Ruby on Rails.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams of at least 5 developers.
  • Excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL or another SQL database system.
  • Experience building and consuming JSON APIs.
  • Strong experience with automated testing using RSpec.
  • Familiarity with Git and Git-based workflows, including GitHub code reviews.
  • Ability to balance maintainability, security, performance, and flexibility.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
  • First-hand experience with DevOps tools and environments (preferred).
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge, especially AWS (preferred).
  • Experience using AI tools for rapid but reliable code development (preferred).
  • Knowledge of video transcoding and online streaming (preferred).
