Description

  • Contribute to cutting-edge research in machine learning and large language models for Pinterest use cases such as search, recommendation, reasoning, and planning agents.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data to build intelligent, data-driven models.
  • Write clean, efficient, and sustainable code.
  • Use machine learning, natural language processing, and graph analysis to solve modeling and ranking problems across growth, discovery, ads, and search.
  • Scope and independently solve moderately complex problems.
  • Conduct research that can be applied across Pinterest engineering teams.
  • Engage in external collaborations and mentoring.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, ML, NLP, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in machine learning or information retrieval.
  • Mastery of at least one systems language (Java, C++, Python) or one ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLFlow).
  • Experience in research and solving analytical problems.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Comfortable solving ambiguous problems and adapting to a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: NLP and reasoning, computer vision for multi-modality, graph neural networks, inclusive and responsible AI, reinforcement learning, user modeling, or recommender systems.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $189,308 to $389,753 USD for US-based applicants.
  • Eligible for equity.
  • Remote-first PinFlex working model with in-office collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.
  • Country-wide location flexibility.
  • No relocation assistance provided.
