Description

  • Own bad-debt recovery, collection, litigation, and settlement outcomes against company targets.
  • Set and enforce service-level agreements, KPIs, collection workflows, assignment processes, and escalation thresholds.
  • Prioritize collection efforts based on account risk and balance size.
  • Ensure collection communications comply with FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, and applicable state laws.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to build collection automation, tracking, reporting, and workflow systems.
  • Manage collection vendors, litigation referrals, settlements, billing, scorecards, guidelines, and escalations.
  • Lead, coach, and manage collections employees, BPO teams, and offshore partners, including performance management and training.
  • Partner with Accounting on bad-debt allowances, month-end close documentation, and receivable closeouts.
  • Develop SOPs and drive Agile process improvements, dispute resolution, and upstream exposure reduction.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex customer inquiries, disputes, and collection issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of team leadership or people-management experience, including performance management.
  • 2+ years of vendor-management experience.
  • Working knowledge of FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, and applicable state debt-collection laws.
  • Experience with data analysis, vendor scorecards, reporting, and recommendation development.
  • Understanding of workers’ compensation operational practices and Pie’s products and systems.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment, customer empathy, and strong ownership.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex problems, make data-informed decisions, and apply Agile improvement methods.
  • Comfort with Google Workspace, Salesforce, collaboration tools such as Slack, and frequent platform switching.
  • Preferred: commercial insurance, premium audit, BPO/offshore team management, or LEAN certification experience.
