Description

  • Set up and manage new utility accounts with providers across multiple regions.
  • Follow up with utility providers on missing bills to help prevent service interruptions.
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, billing issues, and invoice errors.
  • Post correcting journal entries to maintain general ledger accuracy.
  • Reconcile the utility deposit asset account on a monthly basis.
  • Review general ledger activity to identify missing expenses and prepare accruals.
  • Audit utility invoices for unusual cost fluctuations and investigate root causes.
  • Identify data anomalies, research underlying issues, and implement corrective solutions.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries within 24 to 48 hours.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team and support finance with ad hoc requests and special projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant Accounts Payable or general accounting experience.
  • Experience working with multi-entity operations is required.
  • Proficiency in Sage or similar mid-to-enterprise level accounting software is a strong plus.
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data formatting.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot trends and anomalies in large datasets.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a heavy daily workload.
  • Clear and succinct communication skills with internal stakeholders and external utility partners.
  • Highly responsive and dependable with a commitment to strict deadlines.
