Description

  • Design and implement end-to-end technical data solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Lead technical delivery from production implementation through performance, security, scalability, and data integration.
  • Mentor and/or lead other engineers on the team.
  • Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries for data solutions.
  • Develop client-facing presentations and communicate technical concepts clearly in written and verbal formats.
  • Create detailed solution documentation, including POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
  • Collaborate on complete software development lifecycle activities, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Work across cloud data platforms and integration technologies to support multiple data sources and production environments.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience as a Solutions Architect and/or Data Engineer designing and implementing data solutions.
  • Experience leading teams and/or mentoring other engineers.
  • Ability to build end-to-end technical solutions for production with attention to performance, security, scalability, and robust data integration.
  • Programming expertise in Java, Python, and/or Scala.
  • Experience with core cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, Databricks, and GCP.
  • Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write, debug, and optimize queries.
  • Client-facing written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience creating and delivering detailed technical presentations.
  • Ability to produce detailed solution documentation, such as POCs, roadmaps, sequence diagrams, class hierarchies, and logical system views.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Preferred: production experience with Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, Hadoop, or Databricks.
  • Preferred: experience with distributed/cloud storage systems such as S3, ADLS, HDFS, GCS, Kudu, ElasticSearch/Solr, Cassandra, or other NoSQL systems.
  • Preferred: experience with data integration tools and technologies such as Spark, Kafka, streaming/event pipelines, Streamsets, Matillion, Fivetran, NiFi, AWS DMS, Azure DataFactory, IICS, or Google DataProc.
  • Preferred: experience working with multiple data sources, including queues, relational databases, files, search, and APIs.
  • Preferred: complete software development lifecycle experience, including design, documentation, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Preferred: experience with automated data transformation and curation tools such as dbt, Spark, Spark streaming, and automated pipelines.
  • Preferred: experience with workflow management and orchestration tools such as Airflow, AWS Managed Airflow, Luigi, or NiFi.
