Description

  • Monitor news and events across print, digital, television, radio, and social media platforms.
  • Work with analysts to deliver timely client alerts on relevant news developments.
  • Collect, prepare, and analyze data for media analysis and scheduled reports.
  • Support long-term research projects and deeper trend analyses.
  • Create Excel pivot tables and update report charts and graphics.
  • Write clear narrative text that explains findings and trends in the data.
  • Validate and interpret automated reputation-risk and stakeholder-view scores from Penta’s proprietary platform.
  • Produce alerts, briefings, and reports on media coverage, topic trends, reputation, and stakeholder sentiment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; communications, journalism, economics, history, or another social science is preferred.
  • Experience writing analytical reports and creating presentations using Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
  • Proficiency using Excel for exploratory data analysis and visualization, including pivot tables.
  • Strong interest in media, the 24/7 news cycle, and the intersection of culture, business, and politics.
  • Excellent written communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coachability and a learning- and growth-oriented mindset.
  • Must be located in the United States and able to work remotely 35–40 hours per week during either 6 a.m.–2 p.m. ET or 2 p.m.–10 p.m. ET.
  • Available for rotating weekend evening shifts every six weeks and for a six-month internship from mid-November through mid-May 2027.
