Description

  • Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of new platform capabilities in a collaborative agile environment.
  • Build, support, and maintain services that power the Federated GraphQL API, event-driven architecture, and regulatory compliance tooling.
  • Partner with engineering teams and stakeholders to drive integrations with internal services across the organization.
  • Support feature development for customer-facing applications by helping define scope, contributing to technical specs, and reviewing code and designs.
  • Develop, scale, and optimize gRPC endpoints, GraphQL APIs, and SQL queries.
  • Own observability practices, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response using tools such as DataDog and Bugsnag.
  • Identify bottlenecks and systemic risks proactively and lead efforts to resolve them before they affect reliability or scale.
  • Mentor engineers across the organization and help strengthen a culture of technical excellence.
  • Contribute to improving platform efficiency and reducing friction across systems and the software delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
  • Experience owning complex systems end-to-end.
  • Comfort working across a polyglot codebase including Elixir, Java, Rust, and TypeScript.
  • Ability to design, build, and optimize distributed systems that perform under real-world load.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, including the difference between data-model APIs and domain-oriented APIs.
  • Solid foundation in computer science, including data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design.
  • Strong experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with caching strategies and the tradeoffs involved in using them at scale.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, pytest, or equivalent.
  • Experience in high-throughput or real-time domains such as sports betting, gaming, or financial services.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience with AI.
