Description

  • Work closely with product designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to contribute to the Alley-oop design system.
  • Create and maintain foundational patterns, UI components, and documentation while following accessibility standards.
  • Build reusable and adaptable interactive components using variants, design tokens, and component properties.
  • Optimize Figma libraries and anticipate how system components and styles will affect other users.
  • Advocate for adoption of the design system across the organization and support cross-functional teams with implementation.
  • Communicate design thinking, process, and rationale clearly to justify design decisions.
  • Review feedback, iterate on designs, and provide objective feedback to other product designers.
  • Help shape the design system roadmap and governance model to improve team and organizational processes.
  • Support broader product design work as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience designing digital products and experiences, including native apps for both iOS and Android.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design systems work and end-to-end experience design.
  • Experience using design thinking and user research to inform design decisions.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to identify user problems and define impactful solutions.
  • Comfort working autonomously and proactively, while knowing when to involve others.
  • Comfort running workshops or presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience designing for web and native platforms with WCAG-compliant, accessible design.
  • Experience with mentorship, design leadership, feedback, and setting a high standard for execution.
  • Ability to communicate design concepts and processes clearly.
