Description

  • Collaborate with product designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to contribute to the Alley-oop design system.
  • Create and maintain foundational design patterns, UI components, and system documentation.
  • Support product designers by building reusable interactive components that use variants, design tokens, and component properties.
  • Optimize Figma libraries based on how components and styles affect system users.
  • Advocate for the Alley-oop design system across the organization and support cross-functional adoption.
  • Communicate design decisions and processes clearly to justify design choices.
  • Review work, exchange feedback, and help other product designers improve through iteration and critique.
  • Help shape the design system roadmap and governance model to improve team and organizational processes.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating design system work and end-to-end product experience informed by design thinking and user research.
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to identify user problems and define impactful solutions.
  • Comfort working autonomously and proactively while knowing when to involve others.
  • Ability to run internal or external workshops and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience designing for web and native platforms with WCAG-compliant, accessible design.
  • 3+ years of experience designing digital products and experiences, including native iOS and Android apps.
  • Experience mentoring others and developing design leadership skills is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to or scaling a design system is preferred.
