Description

  • Partner with BSA/AML, Compliance, Financial Crimes, Technology, Product, Data, and Operations teams to translate screening strategy into functional specifications, business rules, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes.
  • Serve as the BSA/AML subject matter expert in requirements discussions and evaluate proposed technical solutions for alignment with program objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide functional oversight for customer screening, transaction screening, watchlist screening, alert generation, and related financial crimes detection capabilities.
  • Own user acceptance testing for screening platform enhancements, model changes, system releases, data integrations, tuning initiatives, and regulatory updates.
  • Validate screening outcomes, monitor alert volumes and operational performance, and identify anomalies, data quality issues, and model effectiveness changes.
  • Lead tuning and optimization efforts to improve screening effectiveness, reduce false positives, and balance operational efficiency with risk and compliance needs.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between expected and actual screening outcomes by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders on root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Establish and track KPIs and effectiveness metrics to evaluate screening performance and support program improvements.
  • Maintain complete functional documentation, control evidence, and remediation records to support audits, examinations, and governance requirements.
  • Develop a strategic roadmap for BSA/AML screening capabilities and prepare management reporting and governance materials for leadership review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Advanced degree such as a JD, MBA, or Master's in a related field preferred.
  • CAMS, CFCS, or a similar certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in BSA/AML, Financial Crimes, screening technology, or risk management systems.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience overseeing complex programs, teams, or technology initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of screening platforms and financial crimes technologies such as Actimize, LexisNexis, SAS, or Oracle Financial Crimes.
  • Experience defining business requirements, implementing enhancements, and validating system outputs in a highly regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading functional design activities, overseeing UAT, and managing validation processes.
  • Strong understanding of BSA/AML regulatory requirements, sanctions screening, customer screening, transaction screening, and risk-based compliance expectations.
  • Experience supporting model governance activities, including lifecycle management, tuning, performance monitoring, and validation.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality management, monitoring frameworks, and reporting processes.
  • Experience using data analytics tools and techniques for screening performance analysis, trend identification, and alert optimization.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex compliance and functional requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and regulatory partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operations, Technology, Product, and Risk.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical rigor, excellent written and verbal communication, and adaptability in a dynamic regulatory and technology landscape.
