Description

  • Ship new product surface area from concept to production with a high quality bar.
  • Stand up AI-native workflows for the team, including patterns, evals, guardrails, and prompts.
  • Own and maintain backend and infrastructure health, including CI/CD, deployment hygiene, observability, and architecture decisions.
  • Debug production issues and keep systems reliable and non-brittle.
  • Set the technical hiring bar by conducting technical screens and helping attract strong candidates.
  • Work directly with the CTO and partner across Product, Clinical, and Security.
  • Make key product and technical judgment calls in a small, high-trust team.
  • Support architecture, tooling, and team decisions that shape the product over the next year.

Requirements

  • Track record of using AI to build real products and systems significantly faster without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong product judgment and ability to decide what to build and what to cut.
  • Very high standards for code quality, design, and production rigor.
  • Founding-engineer DNA or experience as an ex-CTO/VPE returning to the code.
  • Solid backend experience in Go or Kotlin, with a strong preference for both.
  • Competence with AWS or GCP, with a preference for GCP.
  • Production Kubernetes experience.
  • Full-stack comfort with Node/TypeScript services and React/Next.js on the frontend.
  • Ability to work remote in the US, ideally on an EST/CST schedule, with willingness to come into the NYC office 2–5 days per month if local.
