Description

  • Ensure the technical accuracy of all product content by testing code, code bundles, examples, and step-by-step instructions.
  • Review and resolve technical issues related to facts, references, screenshots, architecture, and overall approach.
  • Check code indentation and consistency throughout the content.
  • Perform quality checks on code-related Amazon reviews, errata, and GitHub issues.
  • Manage book repositories on GitHub and help resolve reader queries with the customer care team.
  • Support improvements to code repositories and code-testing systems.
  • Research new technologies, user needs, and market trends to inform editorial decisions.
  • Act as a technical reader advocate by querying authors, providing feedback, and signing off technical aspects for production.
  • Work with technical reviewers and internal stakeholders to maintain quality, balance timeliness, and support planning decisions.
  • Apply Packt style guidelines and formatting standards to the content.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of at least one technology at a level sufficient to test code and examples.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven record of quality assurance, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Ability to understand and clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on unfamiliar technologies to test and evaluate content.
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with authors and manage author feedback effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and suggest process improvements in quality-control workflows (preferred).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments (preferred).
