Description

  • Lead the development of Overstory’s full technology stack, including the software product, ML models, internal tools, and underlying platform.
  • Partner closely with the VP Product & Strategy to define product direction and drive the business forward.
  • Develop a compelling technical vision and translate it into a 12-36 month engineering strategy.
  • Build and scale a high-performing, diverse engineering team across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ship a high-quality product on a daily basis.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-trust culture where people can do their best work.
  • Create strong communication channels within the engineering team and across the broader business.
  • Engage with customers’ problems deeply enough to guide bold technical solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with the board and other key stakeholders.
  • Recruit proactively and build a team that can grow through the next stage of company expansion.

Requirements

  • Senior engineering leadership experience, including leading teams from Series A through Series C or later in a VC-backed startup.
  • Experience managing a team of 70+ people.
  • Experience working on a complex, ML-based product.
  • Bonus points for geospatial or remote sensing experience.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes and a product-centric approach to building technology.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams where engineering, product, and design collaborate closely.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Experience managing global teams.
  • Availability to work in Europe (GMT/WET, CET) or Eastern United States (EST) time zones.
  • Strong network and a proactive approach to recruiting top talent.
