Description

  • Perform end-to-end audit engagements in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards (ASA).
  • Prepare audit planning documentation, including risk assessments, materiality calculations, and audit programs.
  • Conduct substantive testing, analytical procedures, and internal control testing.
  • Identify and assess audit issues and their impact on financial statements.
  • Prepare audit working papers, completion procedures, management letters, and clearance files for review.
  • Prepare general purpose, consolidated, and compliant financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
  • Draft accounting policies, disclosures, notes to the financial statements, and supporting schedules.
  • Research, interpret, and document technical accounting and auditing treatments.
  • Communicate professionally with managers, partners, client finance teams, and engagement teams.
  • Review junior team members' work, escalate risks, and contribute to audit quality improvements and process efficiencies.

Requirements

  • CA ANZ or CPA Australia qualification, or an equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in external audit and financial reporting within the Australian regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Australian audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Auditing Standards (ASA).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
  • Experience preparing general purpose financial statements for Australian entities.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for an Australian professional environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Experience preparing consolidated financial statements (preferred).
  • Exposure to ASIC reporting and compliance requirements (preferred).
  • Experience reviewing and mentoring junior audit team members (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Australian corporate reporting obligations under the Corporations Act (preferred).
  • Experience working with multiple client industries and complex group structures (preferred).
  • Experience with CaseWare, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel (Advanced), or other audit and financial reporting platforms.
