Description

  • Post revenue recognition entries and core month-end journals in Xero, including accruals, prepayments, and non-routine entries.
  • Run the month-end close checklist in Asana and ensure close completion by WD+6.
  • Complete reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting support.
  • Review journals and reconciliations prepared by junior team members and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Oversee the fixed asset register and intercompany reconciliations across Traild entities.
  • Support tax compliance and external audits by preparing workpapers and documentation.
  • Maintain data quality and integrity in Xero and partner with the BI Analyst on reporting data.
  • Design scalable accounting processes, document SOPs, and apply AI to reduce manual close activities.
  • Lead a small offshore finance team across quality standards, training, feedback, and one-to-ones.

Requirements

  • CA/CPA qualified or actively working toward qualification.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical accounting, including revenue recognition, month-end close, and multi-entity reconciliations.
  • Experience in a subscription or SaaS business preferred.
  • Deep hands-on experience with Xero and advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience reviewing junior or offshore accountants’ work and setting quality standards.
  • Working knowledge of tax treatment and compliance.
  • Strong technical accounting judgment and ability to defend treatment decisions and recommend escalations.
  • Methodical, self-managing, and able to explain accounting concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Based in Australia, ideally Melbourne or Sydney, with comfort working across time zones.
  • Strong collaboration, adaptability, hands-on execution, and scale-up mindset.
  • Written consent to a police or criminal background check may be required; Traild is an E-Verify employer.
