Description

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for L1 and L2 engineers.
  • Design, deploy, and administer on-premises and hybrid server environments, including Windows Server and Hyper-V.
  • Lead Microsoft 365 migrations end to end, from scoping through cutover.
  • Migrate file servers to SharePoint and OneDrive, including permissions structure design and configuration.
  • Design and deploy Microsoft Azure environments, including Entra ID, Intune, and Defender.
  • Configure and troubleshoot complex switching environments, including VLANs, inter-VLAN routing, trunk ports, and access ports.
  • Build and manage Fortinet and Unifi firewall policies, VPN tunnels, NAT rules, and security profiles.
  • Own patch management and vulnerability review, including weekly update assessment and emergency change processes.
  • Maintain security standards across firewall rules, VLAN segmentation, endpoint security, and backup systems.
  • Communicate technical updates directly to Australian clients and maintain thorough documentation in the knowledge base.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of MSP experience is non-negotiable.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016–2025 in multi-client environments.
  • Hyper-V administration experience, including VM management, storage, and physical host maintenance.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID, including migrations, FSMO roles, and group policy.
  • Independent design and administration experience with Microsoft Azure.
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience, including full tenant migrations, Exchange Online, hybrid configuration, and PowerShell administration.
  • Experience with SharePoint and OneDrive migrations, permissions design, and governance.
  • VLAN design and switching experience, including inter-VLAN routing and port configuration.
  • Experience with Fortinet or Watchguard firewalls, including VPN tunnels, security policies, NAT, and firewall rules built from scratch.
  • Experience with patch and vulnerability management, including CVE assessment, KB review, and emergency change processes.
  • Strong advantage: Unifi networking experience with access points, switches, and controller management.
  • Strong advantage: Datto RMM, ThreatLocker, Kaseya security products, Autotask or similar PSA tools, and IT Glue.
  • Strong advantage: Automation and script development experience.
  • Strong advantage: Exposure to ISO 27001, CISv8, Essential 8, HP ProLiant hardware, iLO management, or VMware ESXi.
